Projectile event in Andalusia, Camposoto playa, San Fernando area, Spain on Sat 17th December 2022
17th December 2022
An explosive ordnance disposal team from the Cdiz Diving Unit (Unbudiz), belonging to the Maritime Action Force Units in Cdiz, based at the Puntales Naval Station, identified and neutralised a 105 mm projectile and a phosphorous flare. They were found at two different points on Camposoto beach, in San Fernando, and are thought to have reached this beach following the storm of the last few days. The Navy neutralised the two explosive devices on Camposoto beach in San Fernando (Cadiz). In a note, the Spanish Navy explained that the devices were located by users of this beach, who alerted 112, which, through the State Security Forces and Corps, initiated the action protocol, notifying the Navy's Maritime Action Operations and Surveillance Centre (Covam). Despite their condition, the explosive and phosphorous charges were "in good condition".
