On 17 March 2023, between Chay Pin and Htan Kone villages (coded as Paungde) (Paungde township, Bago-West region), a combined force of the Thegon PDF battalion 3602 - squadron 4 (sections 6 and 16) and the Paungde PDF battalion 3601 - squadron 4 carried out mine attacks against around 20 Myanmar military soldiers, who were traveling by two boats from Pyin Gyi dock to the eastern Bago mountain ranges, with four mines at around 9 am. At least five military soldiers were killed and several injured.
