On 4 March 2023, an Azerbaijani serviceman died as a result of a landmine accident in an unspecified location within a territory that fell under Azerbaijani control after the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh war (coded to Karvachar, Shahumyan region). According to the Azerbaijani sources the mine was placed there by Armenian servicemen.
