Mine event in Magway, Pakokku area, Myanmar on Sat 4th March 2023

On 4 March 2023, near Than Pu Yar Kan village (Myaing township, Pakokku district, Magway region), the Myaing PDF (PaKaPha) (Pakokku District PDF (B-2, 6, and 7)) attacked the military soldiers and the Pyu Saw Htee near the Myo Pyin market with two mines at around 2:25 pm. DVB reported that there were 2 fatalities and an injury on the military and the Pyu Saw Htee side. Khit Thit Media reported that two military soldiers fell on the ground but did not confirm whether they were killed. Consecutively, the Myaing PDF (PaKaPha) also attacked the military soldiers inside the Myo Pyin market with mines at around 2:37 pm. DVB reported that there were 8 fatalities on the military and the Pyu Saw Htee side and Khit Thit Media reported there were six fatalities and two severe injuries on the military and the Pyu Saw Htee side. A total of fatalities coded as six for the lowest estimates.
