On 6 March 2023, in Chaung Son (East) village (coded as Chaung Son) (Taungtha township, Myingyan district, Mandalay region), the Natogyi People's Defense Force and Myingyan District Drone Strike (MDSS) carried out a drone attack on about 35 military soldiers and police stationed in the Shar Pin Yar monastery at about 11 am. Two policemen were killed, and two others were severely injured.
