On 8 March 2023, a remote controlled IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting Hawadle clan militia in a teashop in NorHawad area of Koshin neighborhood (Belet Weyne, Hiiraan). One civilian was killed and five others were injured. Al Shabaab claimed killing three.
