On 8 March 2023, ISWAP claimed to have detonated 3 explosive devices on the Nigerian army between Maiduguri and Damboa (Damboa, Borno). An armored vehicle was destroyed, a number of soldiers were killed and wounded. Other sources claim that the bomb killed two Civilian JTF members.
