Mine event in Sagaing, Monywa area, Myanmar on Thu 9th March 2023

On 9 March 2023, near Yae Poe Sar village (Chaung-U township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Snap Kite Guerrilla Force, the Chaung-U PDF, the Sagaing District PDF battalion 4, the BC Special Guerrilla Force and the Zoe Fighter People Defence Force carried out a Myanmar military convoy transporting copper with four cluster mines. At the same location, the combined force carried out another mine attack against the military convoy with five cluster mines at around 1:40 pm. At least seven military soldiers were killed in four mine attacks in three locations (between Nat Yae Kan and Yae Poe Sar villages of Chaung-U township, beyond Yae Poe Sar village of Chaung-U township, and near Gway Pin Taw village of Myinmu township). Fatalities split across three locations, coded as 2 for this event.
