A 50-year-old man was killed and his wife injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) at a forest in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on March 1, reports The Week. The IED, planted by Maoists, exploded in Chundri Forest near Ichahatu village in Goilkera Police Station limits, Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said, adding, the deceased was identified as Krishna Purty and he was on the way to his field along with his wife Nandi when the explosion happened. Krishna died on the spot, while his wife suffered severe injuries.
