Bomb found in Offenbach - 8,700 people affected A World War II bomb has been found in Offenbach. The area is being evacuated by the authorities. A World War II bomb weighing around 250 kilograms was found in Offenbach on Thursday. According to the city, it is located in an open area between Mainzer Ring and Karl-Herdt-Weg. In order to defuse them today, emergency services are currently blocking off an area within a radius of 750 meters. The area should be cleared by 6 p.m. According to the city, around 8,700 residents are affected. It is not yet clear when exactly the defusing should take place. Crisis team set up According to the city, the area from the Rumpenheimer Stra§e / Mainzer Ring intersection in the north to the Gro§e Ahl in the south and between the Main in the west and Stra§e im Eschig in the east is affected. Parts of Mhlheimer Strasse are also to be closed to traffic in the early evening. Police are asking that this area be avoided. Mayor Schwenke has commissioned the establishment of a crisis management team: as soon as the bomb is defused and the residents can return, the city will provide information.
