On 25 February 2023, in Nyaung Zin village (coded as Nyaung Zin Lay) (Kanbalu township, Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), three landmines exploded in a row at around 5:30 am and a married couple who came to sell vegetables in the village and three other local men were injured from the explosions. Other sources VOA and Irrawaddy reported that four men and a married couple were injured from the landmine explosions.
