On 25 February 2023, in Am Laung village (Mindat township, Mindat district, Chin state), the Mindat based military IB 274 fired heavy weapons at the village at about 7 pm and the shells exploded on a house of five family members, killing three of them and injuring two children. Khit Thit Media, RFA and DVB reported that a member of the CDF-Mindat who was travelling in the town to collect the list of the IDPs at the time of shelling was also killed by the artillery shells. The CDF-Mindat member was also the deputy administrator of the People's Administrative Team (Pa Ah Pha) in the Taik Nei No (4) area and a former Christian pastor in Mindat. Fatalities coded as 4, using the most recent estimates of the RFA, DVB and Khit Thit Media.
