Rocket event in Donetsk Oblast, Zhelanne area, Ukraine on Thu 9th March 2023

29 strikes in Donetsk region 12 settlements were shelled overnight. Homes and infrastructure were damaged. The enemy fired shells at the cities of Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Chasiv Yar, Velyka Novosilka, Zhelanne, and the villages of Karlivka, Severne, Kamenka, Lastochkino, Tonenke, and Krasnohorivka. The occupants fired from aircraft, Grad multiple rocket launchers, artillery, and mortars. 14 civilian objects were destroyed and damaged - 9 residential buildings, a factory building and workshop, a hospital, a garage, and an outbuilding. Avdiivka suffered the highest number of attacks - fifteen. The enemy shelled the town with aircraft, Grad rocket launchers and artillery. Infrastructure was damaged, civilians were killed and wounded. Rashists continue to destroy Bakhmut with aircraft and artillery. Three apartment buildings were destroyed, and one person was killed and injured. The police and the Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. With the help of the police, 153 more people were evacuated, bringing the total number of people evacuated since the start of the mandatory evacuation to over 49,120, including 6,551 children and 2,376 people with disabilities.
