Russia has created the world's largest minefield in Ukraine. Its area reaches 250 thousand square kilometers. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told the publication about this. To put it in perspective, Ukraine's mined area of 250,000 square kilometers exceeds the entire Korean Peninsula (about 221,000 square kilometers), Laos, Romania (each about 238,000 square kilometers) and Great Britain (about 244,000 square kilometers). Despite the fact that demining works have been underway in the capital region for 10 months, according to experts' estimates, only a little more than 2% of the "souvenirs" left by the Russian occupiers have been defused. Forest strips, forests, reservoirs and fields are especially dangerous. So with the arrival of spring the work of pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service increased significantly. In just one day, residents of Buchanskyi district discovered explosive objects in the villages of Petrushki, Zagaltsi, and the city of Irpin. Representatives of the State Emergency Service and a pyrotechnic group were sent to the scene of the call. Explosive objects were removed and neutralized by detonation in a predetermined quarry for the destruction of explosive objects.
