On 18 February 2023, in Kyun Taw village (Kyaukkyi township, Taungoo district, Bago-East region), the Myanmar military LIB-599 based in Tone Taw village fired 120mm artillery rounds into Kyun Taw village at around 7 pm. An artillery shell landed on a house while family members were having dinner. A 38-year-old woman was killed and her 12-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son were injured.
