On 19 February 2023, near Ka Mar Saing village (Thaton township, Thaton district, Mon state), a combined force of the KNU battalion 2 - squadron 3 under brigade 1, the Hawk Revolutionary Squad, the Bilin PDF (PaKaPha) and the PDF squadron 3 carried out mine attacks against a Myanmar military convoy traveling from Thaton to Bilin at around 7:40 pm. Seven military soldiers were killed and four injured.
