The windows of a front door were blown out by an explosion on the night of Thursday to Friday on the Markenland in Etten-Leur. Ten houses were evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package stuck to the window while an explosives explorer investigated. An explosive went off around 3am, damaging the property. The Explosives Exploration Team (TEV) came to investigate. The street was cordoned off as a suspicious package was found in the window frame of the house in which a green light was flashing. It became clear that it was an explosive, stuck to the window. The residents of the property were not at home. Neighbours spoke of a "terribly loud bang", which had woken them up. In total, people from 10 surrounding homes were on the streets. Someone from the municipality came to provide shelter. The package could be removed after the investigation, after which residents could eventually return to their homes. No one was injured.
