Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Rotterdam, Struikheide, Ommoord area, Netherlands on Mon 12th December 2022

A family on Struikheide in Ommoord fell victim to a huge explosion last night. At around 02.20 a.m., an explosive device was used to blow up the front door, immediately followed by a huge fire. The family living in the house managed to get out unharmed. The police immediately started a search for the suspects in the area. It is not known if any arrests were made. Staff from the Forensic Investigation Service arrived at the scene for investigation. They secured various goods. A trainer was found on the Selma Lagerlofweg a little further away. It was taken away as possible evidence. Neighbours were outside en masse last night. The blast was so loud that half the street had woken up. Why the attack on the house was made is not known.
