Dredging work in the Linthorst Homan canal near Beilen is partially resumed. Part of the canal has not yet been released for work because more investigation is needed after the discovery of explosives. Six grenades were found almost a fortnight ago. It is possible that these were dumped. Investigations show that the grenades have US, German and Russian origins. "How the explosives ended up in the canal is unknown. A dumping is not ruled out," the Midden-Drenthe municipality informed.
