On 11 February 2023, an army unit escorting a convoy to Djibo was hit by a booby-trapped body between Kongoussi (Bam) and Kourpelle (Bam). The body was probably booby-trapped by JNIM militants. Five soldiers were killed and several injured. The convoy returned to Kongoussi.
