On 15 February 2023, between the exit of Ayadaw town and War Taw Ma village (coded as War Taw Ma) (Ayadaw township, Monywa district, Sagaing region), an unknown local people's defense force attacked a car carrying students, who were returning home after taking the exam at the Ayadaw Township Basic Education High School (BEHS), with mines in the afternoon. A female student was killed, and ten others were injured including seven female students and three male students. The unknown local people's defense force said that they mistakenly attacked the car as it looked like the car used to carry military soldiers and did not know that students were riding in the car.
