On 15 February 2023, 5-6 TTP members, including 1-2 commanders were killed in a roadside bomb explosion that hit their vehicle near the Durand line in the Shonkaray Dara area of Sar Kani district, Kunar. Some sources reported that all killed in the incident were Pakistani citizens and had links with TTP. A child was also killed or injured in the attack. No group has claimed responsibility.
