Mine event in Battambang Province, Dangkot, Sdao, Rattanak, Battambang area, Cambodia on Thu 9th February 2023

Unexploded ordnances (UXO) was found by a villager who was working in his field and reported to authorities. The UXO was discovered yesterday at 08:15 in Dangkot village, Sdao commune, Rattanak district, Battambang by a 34-year-old male name Sim Piseth. Piseth immediately reported the discovery to the relevant authorities. After receiving the information, the police inspected went to the field and found three mines, one 100mm grenade and one 60mm grenade. The police reported the finding to the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) and asked for assistance in clearing the UXOs. On that occasion, Rattanak Mondul District Police called all local people to be very careful of unexploded ordnance and report any findings to the authorities immediately to avoid injuries due to the UXOs.
