On 6 February 2023, near Kaing Ma village (Kanbalu township, Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Kawlin PDF (PaKaPha) and the Koe Taung Boet PDF (PaKaPha) carried out a mine attack on a column of more than 70 military soldiers coming from the Koe Taung Boet village near the Kyauk Me mountain at around 6 am. Myanmar Now reported that three military soldiers were killed, and at least five others were injured. DVB reported that at least seven military soldiers were killed, and some were injured. Fatalities coded as 3, using the lowest estimate.
