On 8 February 2023, between Htee Mei Wah Khee and Hpa Lu villages (coded as Htee Mei Wah Khee) (Myawaddy township, Myawaddy district, Kayin state), an unexploded artillery shell exploded when locals, who were clearing their corn farms located between two villages, accidently burned the shell when burning wastes at around 10 am. A 60-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were injured by the explosion.
