A self-styled Фsub-zonal commanderХ of Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), identified as Anil Bhuiyan alias Prakash ji alias Jai Prakash ji alias Omprakash, surrendered before the Police in Palamu District of Jharkhand on January 31, reports The Print. Bhuiyan, a resident of Dokra village in Chainpur area, was wanted in three criminal cases, laid down his country-made pistol and two cartridges before Superintendent of Police (SP), Chandan Kumar Sinha, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Commandants. He was involved in extortion, firing on a Police team and torching vehicles besides possessing firearms illegal, the SP said, adding he had joined the outfit six years ago.
