On 28 January 2023, in the rural area of Tumaco municipality (Narino), an Awa Indigenous social leader was killed after stepping on a landmine planted by an unknown armed group in the Gran Sabalo Indigenous Reserve. The victim was a member of the Guardia Indigena. There is presence FARC dissidents and the ELN in the area. 1 fatality.
