On 29 January 2023, near Hpa Lan Ma village (Seikphyu township, Pakokku district, Magway region), a combined force of Bar Ma Hti People's Defense Force and the Chauk PDF (PaKaPha) - Pyu Gyi Group attacked seven military soldiers from the No (12) Defense Equipment Factory with three mines on the Seikphyu-Saw Road at about 11:25 am. DVB reported that five military soldiers including an officer were killed. NUG and Khit Thit Media reported that seven military soldiers including a captain and sergeant were killed. Fatalities coded as 5, using the lowest estimate.
