On 30 January 2023, in Kun Khin village (Saw township, Gangaw district, Magway region), the Gangaw District PDF battalion 8 carried out mine attacks against a Myanmar military column of around 74 soldiers from the LID-55, LID-77 and LID-101 with 50 mines at around 2:52 pm. Khit Thit Media and Myanmar Now reported that at least 10 military soldiers were killed while the Ministry of Defense - NUG reported that 15 military soldiers were killed and two were severely injured. Fatalities coded as 10 based on the lowest estimates.
