On 31 January 2023, at the entrance of Shwebo town (Shwebo township, Shwebo district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the Buffalo Soldiers Freedom Force (SBLDF), the Rook People's Defense Force and the Shwe Bo Defense Force attacked Myanmar military soldiers and police stationed at the town gate with mines at around 8 am. Four soldiers and police were killed and two were severely injured.
