On 31 January 2023, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting government security forces (SNA) convoy near Adan Yabaal town (Adan Yabaal, Middle Shabelle). There were no fatalities. One soldier was injured. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
