On 1 February 2023, in the rural area of Tumaco municipality (Narino), two Awa Indigenous men were injured after stepping on a landmine planted by an unidentified armed group in the Piedra Sellada Indigenous Reserve. There is presence of armed groups in the area. There were no fatalities.
