On 2 February 2023, in Nyaung Pin Wun village of Sagaing township (Sagaing district, Sagaing region), the Taik Nei Sun PDF: Area Kite People's Defense Force carried out an attack using heavy weapons against about 30 Myanmar military troops stationed at Nyaung Pin Wun police station at around 3:50 pm. Seven rounds of 60 mm and nine rounds of 80 mm were fired targeting the police station. Five military soldiers were killed. The PDF also set fire to the police station.
