On 3 February 2023, two pipe bombs were thrown into a checkpoint in front of Marine Corps Special Operations Base in Batu village, Paluka Samo, Bacho (Narathiwat), damaging the road surface. There were no injuries or fatalities. The officials believed the bombs were planted by Malay Muslim separatists with an attempt to threaten the state's stability.
