On January 9, the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) authorities handed over Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs) along with 100 bullets each, to 40 ex-servicemen acting as Village Defence Guards (VDGs) in Dhangri village in Rajouri Tehsil (revenue unit) of Rajouri District in J&K in India, reportsDeccan herald. Earlier, all the VDC members in Rajouri District were equipped with .303 rifles which are single bullet loading weapons and having 10 bullets in magazine.
