On 14 January 2023, overnight, Al Shabaab threw a hand grenade against Hirshabelle police forces in a checkpoint in Radar area at the Koshin neighborhoods in Belet Weyne town (Belet Weyne, Hiiraan). There were no casualties. Al Shabaab claimed responsibility.
