On 20 January 2023, in Su Lay Kone village (Myaung township, Sagaing district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military fired artillery rounds into the village at around 10 am. An artillery shell landed in the compound of a monastery where villagers were hiding, injuring a monk and three villagers.
