On 19 January 2023, in Zar Di village (coded as Zar Di (East)) (Kanbalu township, Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), a combined force of Kanbalu Underground Warriors, MPF U-18, the Kanbalu PDF (PaKaPha) and Kanbalu Local Defense Force fired two 60mm shells and five 120mm shells at nearly 30 military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee stationed at the school and monastery in the evening. Casualties unknown.
