On 18 January 2023, in Mrauk-U town (Mrauk-U township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), a 24-year-old ethnic Khami (Mro) man from Nar Din village stepped on a landmine while cutting firewood in a mountain near the Mrauk-U based military LIB 378. His right leg was amputated and his left leg was severely injured.
