On 18 January 2023, in Moe Dar Lay village (coded as Moe Dar Gyi) (Katha township, Katha district, Sagaing region), the military carried out an airstrike on the village with three jet fighters at around 4 pm during an armed clash between military forces and a combined force of the ABSDF, the Myohla PDF and the Katha PDF near the village, and a bomb hit a crowd attending a donation ceremony in the village, killing seven people (a man and six women) and injuring more than 30 others. Other source DVB reported that at least seven people were killed and at least 30 others were injured. At least six houses were also burned and destroyed. Fatalities coded as 7, using the lowest estimate.
