On 19 January 2023, three were killed and five were injured when a bomb exploded outside the office of the governor office in Taluqan city, Takhar. The attack took place shortly before a meeting between Taliban officials was supposed to take place in the office. The identity of the victims is unknown. No group claimed responsibility.
