On 23 June 2019, an IED attached to a vehicle belonging to a rebel faction that once operated under Operation Euphrates Shield detonated while being dismantled by members of the faction's engineering team in Al Bab city in Aleppo. The explosion resulted in the killing of one member of the engineering team and the wounding of several others.
