On 20 June 2019, an IED planted by an unidentified armed group targeted the vehicle of a member of the Kurdish Falcons Brigade security personnel, which operated under Operation Olive Branch, near the Marata roundabout in Afrin city. The explosion resulted in the killing of the member of the Kurdish Falcons Brigade and the wounding of several others people.
