On 5 January 2023, Russian air forces and artillery struck Ukrainian forces in the area of Prechystivka, Donetsk. About 50 Ukrainian soldiers were killed near Kostiantynivka, Prechystivka, Novomaiorske, and Novomykhaylivka (fatalities split and coded as 12).
