On December 27, a bomb exploded near a Bitumen Paver Machine used for the construction of highways by LEKCON Infrastructure Pvt Ltd in the National Highway-2, Imphal-Dimapur Road along T Khullen and Kuki Taphou stretch at Mayangkhang village under Senapati Police Station in Senapati District of Manipur, reports Imphal Free Press. According to Police, a hill-based militant group had served a monetary demand to LEKCON Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. The Senapati Police Station has registered a case in connection with the incident. Although the machine was damaged by the blast, no casualties were reported.
