On 14 December 2022, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting government security forces convoy travelling in between Gulane and Cali Gaudud, near Tawakal (Furqan) village (Cadale, Middle Shabelle). Al Shabaab claimed killing six soldiers.
