On 10 December 2022, an IED planted by Al Shabaab detonated, targeting government security forces (SNA) and Abgal clan militia convoy along the road on the outskirts of Adan Yabaal town (Adan Yabaal, Middle Shabelle). Al Shabaab claimed killing two soldiers.
