On 3 January 2023, in Lel Htwea village (coded as Lel Htwea Ywar Thit) (Loikaw township, Loikaw district, Kayah state), the Myanmar military fired artillery rounds into the village three times. A 36-year-old woman was killed and a 28-year-old woman was injured. A house was also burned down.
