On 2 January 2023, in Tha Yet Hnit Khwa village (Thayetchaung township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), an unidentified local defense force carried out mine attacks against a Myanmar military convoy of 17 vehicles including 10 trucks, four dump trucks and two cars coming from Dawei town at around 12 pm. Casualties unknown.
