On 29 December 2022, in Way Di village (Launglon township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), an unidentified armed group attacked a wedding reception with two bombs at around 8 am. DVB reported 16 locals were injured and Khit Thit Media reported 6 injured locals. Myanmar Now reported at least 10 locals were injured. The military accused the resistance groups were responsible for the attack. The Launglon PDF and the Dawei Defense Team DDT rejected the military's accusation.
